Persistence has gotten me far in the network marketing/direct selling industry. Starting at the ripe age of 17, my journey for a true, worthwhile and legitimate work at home opportunity was a bumpy one. Originally I had started my search to earn an income to help my parents out. My mother was injured on the job and my step father sustained burns on a great portion of his body in a backyard accident. As a result, both were forced out of work for a while and finances got tight.
Whilst in college, I was introduced to a telecommunications company and attended weekly business meetings, but eventually was told to stop showing up unless I had $500 to invest to get started. Needless to say, I did stop going to the meetings, and unfortunately I found out my potential "business partners" were less than worthwhile of my time.
Upon establishing myself at a decent full time job that allowed me to finance my now part time college career, I was introduced to a jewelry company and got involved ASAP. Unfortunately, I let young love -and life- stand in my way.
I stumbled upon many an opportunity, tried a few, and ended up quitting. In between my mini ventures, I lost some money here and there on "Data Entry" programs and "Paid Survey" opportunities. A penny lost is a lesson learned!
When I first found Ameriplan®, I was actually researching different health plans to see how much I would be "saving" by getting my policy through my employer. Naive, I set the brochure I'd received aside and never took it seriously. The words "discount plan" didn't have a good ring to them in my books because my father had a very poor discount plan that, in all honesty, wrecked my family's perception of discount plans.
Today, I consider the money I lost as an important stepping stone I used to get where I am now. Ameriplan® has offered me much more than a business opportunity and quality health care I didn't have prior to joining. My journey thus far has gained me many residual friendships, along with the knowledge and personal power that I can use anywhere in life.
