Rising Above: Ways to Stay Motivated When the Going Gets Rough

We all have our good days and bad days.  That's just the way life is, it's human nature.  The key to turning those bad days around is finding a way to pick yourself up and continue moving forward.  Nothing good can come of dwelling on negativity and letting life get you down, so what can we do to stay uplifted? Everybody has their own way of dealing with "bad days," so here are a few tips on how I overcome the battle:
Listening to some tunes is always an uplifter for me.  In fact, music is a part of my every day life.  Depending on your mood, it's nice to have that relaxing song to help you unwind and revamp, or that ultra motivating song that pumps you up! every time you hear it.

Relax with a book I've always got at least 2 or 3 books I'm reading.  When I've got a good book, it's like I've got my own escape to paradise, but it's important to read something inspiring which will also contribute to your growth and self development.

Go back and listen to some training calls It's not hard to get overwhelmed, caught up in the hustle and bustle of life.  Sometimes we forget what our leaders have taught us so it's important to go back to it once in a while and take a refresher.

Listen to industry leaders such as Dani Johnson, Eric Worre, Katie Freiling, Mike Dillard, Rachel Jackson and Jonathan Budd.  These individuals have truly made an impact in Direct Selling/MLM/Network Marketing and have shown us all the possibilities of what can happen when we realize our dreams, make goals, and let determination lead the way!

Close your eyes and meditate Life gets busy, overwhelming, and frustrating.  Don't be afraid to walk away and get a few minutes of peace and quiet to yourself.  This is good especially for those who work at home with small children because kids + business + housework + significant other = not a whole lot of YOU time!

Take a brisk walk Sometimes we need to step away and just be one with nature to clear our heads and prepare to refocus.
These are just a few things that I've found work for me, but because everyone is different, you may need to tailor a strategy to fit you, specifically.

Extra! Extra! Blog all about it!

Alright so you've seen all these people blogging and heard what great things it can do for your business, but you're thinking "Why? How can a blog improve my business?"
Blogging is a way for YOUR personality to shine through and for people to get to know who you are and what you're about.  It's a useful tool for you to take advantage of your own creativity and share your knowledge with others.  I like to think of it as a tool to help build relationships "on auto-pilot" in a sense because as you add content to your blog and gain a following, your readers will come back for updates, and the more they read, the better they get to know you.  Why does that matter? It matters because relationships are the foundation of ever successful business.  People are more apt to do business with someone they know and have learned they can trust, rather than a complete stranger.  Makes sense, right?
Now, everybody has their own writing style - some people have the gift of using big words and sound really smart while others write very simply.  What's important is you do what is comfortable for you.  You can learn what your writing style is by starting a journal and writing in it anytime you get the urge.  Of course with anything else, practice makes perfect! The more you write in your blog, the better and easier it will get.
Think you're ready? Awesome! Happy blogging!
